I'm a pianist. I record piano music, and I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts in piano performance, in classical music and jazz.

When I record, I'm always looking for tools that let the music be, without too much processing. As an interpreter, I want control over what I edit. The shape of a phrase is a decision I made at the piano, and I don't want software second-guessing it.

Most of the good tools that work that way are expensive. So I set out to make one that's good and accessible. Gain Curve shows you, for every second, what it will do before it does it, leaves the dynamics you played in place, and costs $29.
