Terms of sale
The short, plain version of what you get when you buy Gain Curve. Using the software itself is covered by the license agreement.
Who we are
Gain Curve is made and sold by PVT Studio LLC, Pasadena, California, USA. You can reach us at office@pvt-studio.com.
What you buy
A permanent license to use Gain Curve, the app, Audio Unit and VST3, on up to two Macs of yours at a time. You can move it to a new Mac by deactivating an old one. What you make with Gain Curve is yours, including for commercial work.
The price
Gain Curve costs $29 USD, one time, until December 31, 2026. From January 1, 2027 it costs $49 USD. Students and teachers pay $15 with a code from the students page. Sales tax or VAT is added at checkout where it applies.
The price is also the sale. We don't run Black Friday deals or "was $99, now $29" pricing, so nobody who bought yesterday finds it cheaper tomorrow. If the price ever changes, it changes for everyone, and it's announced here, as the January change is above. Students and teachers stay at $15.
Payment
Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as the reseller and merchant of record for your purchase: it takes the payment, collects any sales tax or VAT, and issues your receipt. We never see or store your card details.
Delivery
Your license key appears on the screen right after you pay and is emailed to you. Paste it into Gain Curve to activate. Activation needs the internet once per Mac; after that it works offline.
Trial and refunds
The full version is free for 14 days before you buy. Purchases are final, with the exceptions in the refund policy, including any rights you have by law.
iPhone and iPad
Gain Curve for iPhone and iPad is sold through Apple's App Store, under Apple's terms. It's free to try for 14 days, then a one-time in-app purchase of $14.99 unlocks it, with no subscription. Apple takes the payment and handles refunds for App Store purchases. It is separate from the Mac license: a Mac license doesn't include the iPhone and iPad app, and the in-app purchase doesn't include the Mac version.
Updates and support
Bug fixes and updates to Gain Curve version 1 are free. If something isn't working, write to office@pvt-studio.com and we'll help.
Sharing
Your key is for you. Please don't share it or post it publicly; the license agreement covers this.
The law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without taking away any consumer rights you have where you live.
